The International Detailing Association (IDA) is the leading organization for professional detailing operators, suppliers, and consultants to the industry. The association is dedicated to promoting the value of professional detailing services, the recognition of professional detailing as a trade, and empowering industry professionals at each stage in their career.

As the IDA continues to grow and evolve, it is important to recognize that the organization was formed by and for detailing professionals. “Professional” is at the forefront of our association, with our members and Certified Detailers (CD) holding themselves to a higher set of standards than the average detailer. All members agree to follow the established IDA Code of Ethics, in turn strengthening their own business practices, and, subsequently, the detailing industry as a whole.

The IDA logo instantly tells clients, prospective clients, and industry peers that our members are among the best in the detailing industry, with the credentials to prove it. It identifies members as part of an elite team of worldwide detailing professionals who willingly and continually exchange ideas and share techniques to improve their own businesses and the industry. IDA members in good standing have the benefit of displaying an “IDA Member” decal in their shop window or on their mobile vehicles to proudly demonstrate their commitment to exceptional customer service, unmatched detailing skills, and professionalism. They also have the privilege of adding the official IDA logo to their website, marketing materials, and business cards.

IDA Certified Detailers have taken the additional step of formally demonstrating their knowledge of the profession to become certified by the IDA. As Certified Detailers, they have earned the right to wear the IDA CD patch on their company uniforms and use the CD, CD-SV (Skills Validated), or CD-SV, RT (Recognized Trainer) credentials after their name. They are also encouraged to display their CD certificate in their businesses, proving to clients that they have met the high IDA standards established for Certified Detailer status.
